June has been a busy month
for us with lots of work, a few days away with family and lots of future
plotting and planning. I thought you
might like a little peek at some of the creative things I have been doing this
month.
Make
I haven’t been that busy with
crafty activities but my little Pickle did have a mini Glastonbury festival at
his nursery last week for which I made him a festival hat. I used popper snaps (affiliate link) to attach
dinosaurs and flowers to a ribbon, which I added to my sun hat. Not sure he was overly impressed but I have
it on good authority that he did put it on for a short while!
Oh and I made a bottle of
rhubarb infused gin as a gift. It was
easy to make, I used some rhubarb from my garden and I am told it was tasty (I
don’t drink so didn’t sample it).

Bake
Ahead of our weekend away
with family I made a batch of my favourite gluten free chocolate brownies and a
tray of meringues. Meringues are such a
yummy and cheap pudding for a crowd and make the perfect summer menu when paired
with seasonal fresh British fruit. My
recipe is:
3 egg whites
175g caster sugar
Whisk egg whites to a stiff
peak in a clean, large bowl with an electric whisk. Slowly add the sugar one spoon at a time
until all is combined. The mixture
should be thick and glossy at this stage.
Spoon into eighths directly
onto two baking trays lined with non-stick parchment paper.
Bake for 2 hours at 100ºC
fan.
Leave to cool and store in an
airtight container.

I started off the month by
sharing my free tutorial for the Linus Love Quilt, which I dedicated to Project
Linus UK. I also made some teeny tiny
mug quilts to offer to anyone donating to my Crowdfunding page, where I am
raising funds for my local branch of Project Linus. If you would like to contribute to my

I spent some time this month
designing a pattern that I will be teaching my first-ever sewing class at Millie Moon in Frome. I am extremely
excited to be teaching my pattern for a patchwork drawstring bag. I also recently had a little practise run
with my sister-in-law which went really well (thanks Emma!). If you would like to book a place on my class

Grow
My garden has really started
to bloom and I have been very excited to be harvesting lots of goodies for the
kitchen and my home. Current favourites
are sweet peas, broad beans, mangetout, peas, soft fruits and charlotte new
potatoes.
I have also participated in
my first two link parties which both have provided a little peek into my
